Change your bed, change your life this National Bed Month.
We’ve all come across those enticing online or TV ads that promise miraculous results from various products. However, when it comes to choosing the right bed, the benefits go beyond being just a piece of furniture you can crawl into at the end of the day. A bed, especially one made by an NBF-approved brand, serves as a sanctuary that can significantly impact our concentration, appearance, and overall sense of wellbeing.
Good sleep on a good bed can make us feel better, look better and perform better – it’s a miracle product! See for yourself in our National Bed Month video below.
The impact your bed has on your sleep
One of our previous Sleep Council studies revealed that an uncomfortable bed could rob us of up to an hour of precious sleep, leaving us tired, irritable and unfocused. This means that even with healthy habits such as a balanced diet, regular exercise, and limited alcohol and caffeine consumption, the transformative benefits of a good night’s sleep can be elusive if your bed is not comfortable and supportive.
To optimise your sleep environment, it’s essential to assess your bed, including the mattress and base, every few months. Signs such as lumps and bumps, waking up with a sore back, or sleeping better elsewhere may indicate that it’s time to bid farewell to your current bed.
Regularly checking your mattress and keeping it clean not only contributes to a healthy sleep environment but also promotes better health and hygiene overall.
